First off, I love Popcorn! I discovered the stove top variety a few years back and have not looked back. Coming up with different flavors could probably be considered a hobby of mine. After much thought I came up with butter pecan. And off to the store I went. Here is what you need:
- 10 cups popped popcorn
- 12 oz. can of caramel (instructions here)
- 12 oz. butterscotch chips.
- 12 oz. Pecan bits.
- 2 tsp course salt
Melt butterscotch chips in the microwave or over a double boiler. Once melted add the can of caramel to the melted butterscotch chips and mix until well incorporated and smooth.
Drizzle the caramel mixture over the popped popcorn and mix in the nuts and salt. Stir until all of the popcorn is covered and everything is well incorporated.
