Nursery Tour

Designing the nursery for my first born was the funnest and most fulfilling design that I have ever done. I had the opportunity to let my imagination run wild.

I had to work around the fact that we were in a rental so painting the walls were out of the question. I was pretty bummed about that, but it ended up being a blessing in disguise. Having a blank canvas forced me to get really creative in injecting color, life, and whimsy  into the space. I chose a fun wall sticker and put paper flower cut-outs around, to give it a 3-D layer. I used a large China ball to give the room soft ambient light that was perfect.Butterflies are a classic addition to a girls nursery but It can get cliche pretty quick so I wanted to mix up the colors. I really try to stay away from a theme when designing.

This glider was a Craigslist find that I had reupholstered. It was really the inspiration and beginning of the blast of color that runs throughout.

3-D paper artwork is my jam, so I took every opportunity to place these pieces. The bird nest is a thrifting find that really tied together this “gallery” wall.
